Interior Study Program of Trisakti University Fine Art and Design Faculty (FSRD) once again attained achievement in chair design competition entitled Chair Competition
organized by Wilsonart, PT. Laminatech Kreasi Sarana (VIVERE Group) with Jakarta Indonesian Interior Designer Association (HDII). Two participants from Usakti FSRD Interior Design Study Program succeeded in attaining FIRST WINNER from Professional Category with Placard, Certificate and tens of millions Rupiah of fresh money as its prizes and FAVOURITE WINNER from entire category with Placard, Certificate, and of fresh money prizes.
It was an easy judging process. There were approximately 150 participants following this competition. Selection carried out since early December 2016, yielding total 23 nominations comprised of 11 nominations from Professional Category and 12 from Student Category. These 23 nominations were asked to create 1;1 scale size prototype
using HPL finishing
to be displayed, judging and open presentation carried out at Street Gallery Pondok Indah Mall 3, South Jakarta, from February 13th – 19th, 2017.
It was Oktavianus Marti Nangoy, S.Sn., M.Ds one of lecturer of Chair Design
Course in Interior Design study program who came as FIRST WINNER in Professional Category stated that presentation in the middle of Judge Panel and mall visitors was incredible and beyond his expectation. It was due to the very strict selection and high competitor level.
Likewise with FAVOURITE WINNER from entire category, Joyce Ruth Ulitua (091101300015). Student of 2013 class that was in the middle of her preparing of Final Project was extremely happy to be selected as FIRST FAVOURITE of the most visitor choices. Joyce initial target was actually reaching nomination. Relieve and touched feeling were mixed as her work could be this high appreciated. Joyce stated that it was an outstanding proud that she could hold Trisakti Interior Design reputation in this national level competition.
Joyce also thanked her family, Lecturers, colleagues, and visitors who had spent their time to visit and support her that her chair titled “Gantolle Chair” became the most favorite. Aside from Trisakti, this competition also brought nominator from Pelita Harapan University (UPH), University of Indonesia (UI), Esa Unggul University, Petra Surabaya University, and several prominent Universities.
Either the Lecturer, Oktavianus M. Nangoy, S.Sn., M.Ds as well as Joyce Ruth Ulitua expected that their chair design work could benefit for furniture as well as design world development in the future. (PS. DI – USAKTI).
